Speedmax documentation
Speedmax is a coaching app for triathletes and other endurance athletes. It keeps your profile, your plan and your recorded sessions, for swim, bike, run and anything else you train. Your coach reads this record, plans each week after a short weekly check-in with you, and writes to you.
Open https://speedmax.app and enter your email address. Speedmax sends you a link. Open the link to sign in. There is no password. The first link makes your account. You must be 16 or older.
Your first conversation
After your first sign-in, your coach asks you about your goals, your training and your week. Answer with a suggested answer or in your own words. To skip most questions, choose Import archive (a Garmin or Strava ZIP) or Paste a handoff (a summary from another AI coach, from a prompt you copy). Before it writes your plan, your coach asks if anything else is on your mind. Your dashboard opens when your first two weeks are planned, or when you choose Skip to dashboard.
The dashboard
- Progress: hours per week by sport and your fitness and fatigue, for 3, 6 or 12 months, the past and the plan ahead, with your goal race flagged. Hover a planned week to see its focus and key sessions. Fitness and fatigue are estimates from your power, pace and heart rate. On a computer it is above the day; close it with its title. On a phone, open it from the menu.
- Today: the sessions of the day: title, total time, an intensity bar, the steps and folded notes. Start a guided session, mark a session done or skipped, or import its file (Import). Press a session to see its details. After a session, your coach's assessment is in its details, and you can reply to it.
- Plan: this week and the weeks after it.
- Notifications: the messages and questions from your coach.
- Menu (⌘K or Ctrl+K, or the More tab on a phone): a search, then Progress, the coach's notebook, conversations, and Settings. The search also finds each setting.
- Settings: time zone; notifications and quiet hours; intervals.icu, import and export; your email, dark mode (On, Off or System), privacy policy, sign out and account deletion.
- Coach's notebook: your numbers (thresholds, heart rates, weight, goal) and your coach's notes. You can edit both. When you edit the notes, your coach reads your change.
The plan follows rules. Only the current week and the weeks after it can change. For weeks with sessions, target hours per sport come from the sessions. Weeks without sessions keep the planned hours. Your first plan has sessions for this week and next week, and hours per sport for about six months after. Each later week gets its sessions at your weekly check-in: one hour before the time in Settings you answer a few questions, your coach writes the week as a draft, and you approve it or say what is not right. Until you approve it, the week has no sessions on intervals.icu and no evening reminder. After you approve it, you get the week and the weekly email.
Strength sessions on your phone
A strength session has a Start button on its day. Start opens one exercise at a time, with images, instructions, a timer and a rest countdown. Log each set as you go. If you stop, Resume opens at the next set. Finish marks the session done, or partial if sets are left. Your coach does not change a session you started.
Messages and questions
Read your coach's messages in the dashboard. Open a conversation to reply, or start one from the command menu.
Questions appear as cards with answer choices. You can also type an answer. Answering closes the card at once.
Browser notifications
Each browser asks you once, with a card in your notifications, and again 7 days after Not now. You can also turn on Push on this browser in Settings. Turn them on for tomorrow's training at 19:00 in your time zone. If today's training is unfinished at 19:00, the alert waits until 21:00. Sunday covers the coming week. To stop this evening alert, turn off Evening reminder in Settings. You also get one alert when your coach's assessment of a completed session is ready. Quiet hours apply: set them, and your time zone, in Settings. These alerts work with the app closed. On iPhone or iPad, first add Speedmax to the Home Screen, then open it from that icon to enable alerts.
Import your history
Your coach plans better when it sees what you did before. Imports are optional. Choose Import activities in Settings.
- Strava: on strava.com, open Settings, then My Account, then "Download or Delete Your Account", and request your archive. Strava emails you a zip. Drop it into Speedmax.
- Garmin, Runalyze, or one file: an export archive, or one FIT, TCX or GPX file.
Connect intervals.icu
In Settings, choose Connect next to intervals.icu and approve Speedmax on intervals.icu. Speedmax imports your activities of the last 90 days, then each new activity when it arrives on intervals.icu. intervals.icu limits the calls per day, so a long history can take a few days to arrive. A session that you also uploaded stays one session. A session you delete in Speedmax does not come back. Speedmax only reads your activities; it changes nothing on intervals.icu. intervals.icu does not share activities that come from Strava: connect your watch or bike computer to intervals.icu directly. To stop, choose Disconnect next to intervals.icu in Settings. The activities already imported stay.
Speedmax does not connect to Strava or Garmin.
Your data
- Export my data: in Settings. You get a zip with your whole record: profile, sessions and their per-second data, plan, notes, messages, and the files you uploaded.
- Delete my account: in Settings. Your account and its data go at once, and there is no way back. The server keeps the three latest complete backups; deletion from backups is not immediate.
The privacy policy says what Speedmax stores, who can see it, and for how long.
